Sea, islands, and hereditary rule

There is a particularity about Greek mainstream politics -and Greek capitalism too, for that matter. Greece has a strong tradition of political dynasties. We often refer to those as “tzakia”, which means fireplaces, implying a rich, powerful family. Since the liberation from Nazi occupation on October 12, 1944, there have been three most notable such political “clans”, whose members keep coming up in the lists of Prime Ministers, ministers, MP’s and Athens Mayors. They are the Papandreou family, the Karamanlis family and the Mitsotakis family. The most recently established “fireplace” of those three, is the latter, the one of the Current Prime Minister. Since the ’90s, the Cretan Dynasty of Mitsotakis has had two PM’s, two Mayors of Athens, and several Minister and MP positions between four people of three generations. And these are just the political positions. Try to imagine for a second, the kind of arrogance that stems from such an obscene amount of consolidated privilege. Currently, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is the PM and his nephew Kostas Mpakogiannis is the Mayor of Athens, both elected with the right-wing party of Nea Dimokratia (New Democracy).

As aforementioned, Greek capitalism is considered somewhat particular as well. It has long been labelled (from Greek people themselves mostly, but not only), as the most “state-funded” in the Western World. Amusingly, the Greek word “kratikodietos” would literally translate as “on a State diet”. This relates, among other things, to the age-old tradition, going all the way back to the days of the Ottoman Empire, of the political class forming codependent relations of corruption with rich and powerful families, businesses and interest groups.

Obviously, none of this is unique to Greece, in fact, it’s the very nature of our global system, but perhaps in Greece, it is done in such a crudely brazen and unapologetically blatant manner, that it can seem somewhat “unfamiliar” to the eye of the Western audience. What is rather distinct to Greece though, is that the most powerful section of the capital is shipping capital. Many Greek ship-owners are included in lists of the richest people in the world. While many of them are mostly citizens of the global elite, not bothering too much with their small country of origin, certain shipping families wield enormous power over Greek society, economy and politics.

Now let’s identify some of the other key players in our main story.

Vangelis Marinakis: Born and bred in Pireas, Greece’s largest international port, he inherited a vast fortune from his father, a Cretan ship-owner and politician. Apart from founder and owner of Capital Maritime & Trading Corp., he’s also the owner and (technically former) president of Olympiakos F.C. and owner of Alter Ego Media, a vast media conglomerate. He has been accused in major corruption and criminal cases, in regards to fixing games in the Greek football championship, but most notoriously in the shady case of Noor1, a ship carrying 2,1 tons of heroin. A remarkably dubious case, where an unprecedented 9 witnesses have died, 3 judicial investigators have refused to take on the case and another 3 have quitted. Most notably Kaliopi Mantaka, who was considered to have made the furthest progress in the case, suddenly quit her job entirely, and moved with her whole family to the USA! Finally, Vangelis Marinakis, who has infamously been paying rent and equipment costs for Nea Dimokratia offices, is also the best man (in her wedding) of Ntora Mpakogianni, a Nea Dimokratia MP, sister of the PM and mother of the Mayor of Athens, and is widely considered one of the most ardent supporters and sponsors of the current government and ruling party.

Giannis Alafouzos: Born in the island of Santorini into a shipping family, he also inherited a vast fortune from his ship-owning father. He took over the family business Glafki (Hellas) Maritime Company and founded Ermis Maritime Corporation. He is administering Panathinaikos FC as its major shareholder, and president of SKAI media group and the newspaper Kathimerini. You might have noticed a tiny bit of a pattern so far. He has been prosecuted for petrol smuggling in 1992, and eventually acquitted. He was convicted in 2001 to 5 years imprisonment for debts, and later won the appeal. In 2016, the district attorney for Financial Crimes ordered the freezing of all of his assets of over 50 million Euro tax-dodging affair. Alafouzos later paid, and regained control of his assets. SKAI TV could be described as the FOX news of Greece, while Kathimerini tries to maintain a more serious bourgeois profile. Both, however, fervently support right-wing (and occasionally far right) politics, with hardly any pretence of objectivity.

Vardis Vardinogiannis and Family: The Vardinogiannis family is one of the most powerful in the country. Their business groups and conglomerates form a colossal network of power and wealth that includes shipping, petrol (refining and distribution), real estate & hotels, banking, media and others. Vardis, who is acknowledged as the leader of the clan, and the director of the big bulk of the family businesses, was targeted in 1990 by 17th November group, who fired 3 RPG rockets at his car. At least one hit the target, but the tycoon survived due to the car’s remarkably robust armour. The Cretan family has had a tradition of centrist politics, and specifically amical relations with the Papandreou political clan. Since 2007, however, Vardis’s niece, Olga Kefalogianni, has been a Nea Dimokratia MP, and the Minister of Tourism (2012-2015). She is the daughter of Eleni Vardinogianni, Vardis’s sister, and Giannis Kegfalogiannis, a prominent Nea Dimokratia politician. Also, another niece of Vardis, Chrysi Vardinogianni is married to actor Konstantinos Markoulakis, one of the closest friends and associates of the child rapist Dimitris Lignadis.

Two worlds collide, a war of old and new media, and a timeline of disgrace

Nea Dimokratia waged an ultimately successful election campaign with a hardline “Law and Order” rhetoric (among other things, such as lower taxes). It especially targeted the anarchists as a paradigmatic, collective personification of lawlessness, promising to eradicate them as a movement. After electoral victory, they set out to gradually bring unprecedented neoliberal and authoritarian legislation that was aiming to reshape the country in a long-lasting way. They started implementing the heavily advertised “law and order” agenda by waging war against the anarchists, evicting squats –starting with the ones that hosted refugees- and various other means of repression. When the Covid19 pandemic reached Greece and the lockdowns started, the party found a golden opportunity to accelerate their plans by bringing legislation that would have been unthinkable for previous governments, and in any case, would guarantee massive turmoil on the streets.

Most notably, the recently voted through the Parliament, and likely to never be implemented education reform, that includes introducing police forces and surveillance networks inside universities, penalizing all kinds of sociopolitical activities for students, and drastically cutting down the admissions; to create clientele for the private universities, that they are attempting to equate with the public ones in the same legislation.

An important note of context about this government is that it controls a staggering percentage of the mainstream media. It is commonly estimated that 80% of media are, not just on their side, but blindly praising them, to the point of ridicule. To mention one infamous (and rather amusing) example, Mitsotakis has been likened to Moses, who will lead the nation out of the desert of the current crisis. This has been achieved, not only by the eagerness of the business interests that control the media to support deregulation but also through literal bribes, given in broad daylight. The government has repeatedly issued special grants of public money, to a spectrum of their favourite news outlets, for “raising Covid19 awareness”.

This overwhelming rigging of public discourse in the traditional channels has shifted more power towards the new media of the internet, and especially social networking platforms. This is where anger and disdain have been brewing. Given that the Greek language has been hardly any priority for the central administrations of the tech giants that control platforms like Twitter and Facebook, and the old school, low tech repression capacities of the Greek State, the suppression of speech hasn’t caught up with what is going on in the English speaking world. In fact, if anything, this could be right now, the pivotal point of transition towards more comprehensive internet censorship. The timeline below will –among all else- manifest why.

August 7, 2020

One month after the election, the new Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, changes the laws about the positions of art directors, thus allowing for direct appointments without tender notice. Six days later she appointed Dimitris Lignadis as the new Art Director of the Greek National Theatre, the highest position in the industry. Dimitris Lignadis is considered to have a personal relationship with the PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis. According to prominent journalists, he has given him private tutoring in elocution.

January 8, 2021

After many years of vindictive treatment by the justice system, and the legislations blatantly passed with the sole purpose to deny him his prisoner rights, Dimitris Koufontinas starts a hunger strike. His demand is merely to stop the bold violation of the law (4760/2020, article 3) so that he can return to his original cell in Korydalos prison in Athens.

As a prime executioner of the Revolutionary Organization 17th November, Koufontinas was the person who executed Mitsotakis’s brother in law and the husband of the aforementioned Ntora Mpakogianni: Pavlos Mpakogiannis. More and more references in social media, begin to criticize the Mitsotakis clan for brazenly weaponizing the justice system, and handling Koufontinas in the manner of the Cretan Vendetta tradition.

January 20, 2021

Olympic Medalist and sailing champion Sofia Mpekatorou testifies to the District Attorney over her accusation of the 1998 sexual assault against a powerful sports manager. It was the official launch of the Greek #MeToo movement. The wave quickly starts sweeping the world of Greek theatre, with multiple accusations of sexual abuse surfacing.

February 2, 2021

As rumors about Dimitris Lignadis start circulating widely on social media, journalist Elena Akrita makes a post saying he is about to resign. The Ministry of Culture issues a scathing response, dismissing the claim and fully defending the director. During the next days, and while social outcry was raging, Lignadis took legal measures to prevent his name from being mentioned in public discourse in relation to such allegations. He is from then on referred to in the media as “the famous actor and director”. This is the first and only time this happened for anybody since the Greek #MeToo started.

February 6, 2021

The 20/20 Mag news website publishes an interview with Nikos S., where he describes his traumatic experience of being raped by “the famous actor and director” when he was 19 years old. The crime cannot be prosecuted, due to the statute of limitations (15 years). Although Nikos S didn’t name the director, his narration contains elements that directly identify Lignadis, who resignes the same day.

February 8, 2021

Nikos S. files a lawsuit against the director. On that day, Giorgos Kalaitzidis, a prominent member of the anarchist group Rouvikonas, makes the following post on Facebook: “The paedophile rapist Dimitris Lignadis is using his connections to get people to make phone calls, and threaten people to not move against him legally. This scum should know that more of us have entered this game. (…)” The post goes semi-viral.

February 10, 2021

Tens of thousands of people all over Greece come out to protest, amid the pandemic, against the education reform. The crowds are unexpectedly large, and it is regarded as a response to the government’s effort to take advantage of the lockdown. Many of those demonstrations are attacked by the police with multiple arrests, and the overall tension is growing.

February 11, 2021

The anarchist group Masovka makes an activist intervention at the political bureau of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, where they throw leaflets and graffiti the walls in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas –among others. The next day, two of the group’s members are arrested/abducted right outside their homes. Soon after, in an egregious series of creative legal “innovations”, the whole group is facing prosecution as a “criminal organization”.

February 12-13, 2021

In an evidently coordinated manner, all the media outlets of the three aforementioned tycoons (see above) launch a shocking campaign of misinformation and propaganda in defence of Dimitris Lignadis, casting doubts or entirely dismissing the accusations. STAR TV, owned by the Vardinogiannis family, takes it the furthest. During the evening news on 12/02, they proclaim they will uncover “the whole truth” about the case, and broadcast a report titled “Famous director in the eye of the storm, over… nothing”. The still image of this title promptly goes viral, and triggers one of the biggest backlashes ever in Greek social media and the wider internet. So strong is the pushback, that STAR TV was forced to issue a public apology the next day. It appears the mainstream media have thoroughly lost this battle.

February 15, 2021

While more and more news surface about multiple further testimonies against the “famous actor and director”, and the internet is roaring with outrage, the spokesperson for the government gives a press conference. He makes some statements about the resignation of the “art director” -without mentioning his name- and goes on to explain that it was “for personal reasons”, while being so visibly awkward about it, that makes it, admittedly, hilarious to watch.

February 16, 2021

The actor Christos Perros gives a TV interview, accusing the “famous actor and director” of sexual harassment when Perros was 14 years old. The crime, again, cannot be prosecuted due to the statute of limitations. An anarchist demo in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas manages to take the streets and march through the city of Thessaloniki. Every similar attempt in Athens has been met with an overwhelming police force and brutality. Generally, throughout the whole month of February, there are activist actions and demos in several cities in Greece in solidarity with the hunger striker, which are heavily repressed more often than not.

February 17, 2021

A 40-year-old man called Vasilis gives another interview on television, describing how “the famous actor and director” sexually abused him when he was 15 years old. He had filed a lawsuit against him on February 5, but the crime cannot be prosecuted due to the statute of limitations.

February 18, 2021

A crowd of anarchists stages an intervention at the Ministry of Health in Athens, with banner drop and leaflets, in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas. 65 people are swiftly arrested and taken to the central police headquarters. They are later attacked by riot police inside the courts, after being released. That evening, the anarchist Giorgos Kalaitzidis of Rouvikonas posts on Facebook: “Christos Perros received a call after the [interview] broadcast where he accused Lignadis, and was told ‘You will die’. The Vice Minister of contemporary culture N.Giatromanolakis, instead of calling the lawyers of the victims, is calling the Actors Union every day, asking for information (to inform who?) Same with the District Attorney. Nikos S. (who also accused Lignadis) was stopped and searched by police outside his house.The gangsters are striking back. You will get steamrolled.” That post gets more than 500 shares.

February 19, 2021

More rallies in multiple cities in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas take place. The one in Athens is once again brutally attacked by the police. A third lawsuit is filed against Dimitris Lignadis for raping a 14-year-old boy. This time it’s within the statute of limitations. The Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni gives a press conference, where she says that she spoke with Lignadis and asked him persistently if the “rumours” were true, but he vehemently denied it. Then she goes on to say that he deceived her with his “profound acting”…True story!!

February 20, 2021

A surprise anarchist demo in solidarity with Dimitris Koufontinas reaches the headquarters of Nea Dimokratia party. The police attack the anarchists at the train station on their way back and arrest about 100 people. Dimitris Lignadis is finally arrested. The internet is flooding with commentary pointing out that he had two whole weeks since he was publicly accused of child rape -and resigned over it-, to destroy all possible evidence from hard drives, sim cards etc, that would further incriminate him, or even more so, possibly incriminate other prominent members of the country’s elite.

Today, the Nea Dimokratia government is on the ropes. Things were already going south for them before all this blew up. The handling of the pandemic has long escaped the appearance of control that they managed to project last spring. There is growing discontent on various layers of society for several different reasons. And now, they are taking more damage day by day from this scandal.

At the same time, there is growing concern that elements within the government may be considering a favourable to them scenario, in which Koufontinas death could provide the ideal exit strategy for them. Possibly the same elements who might advocate that such an eventuality will consolidate their far-right audience: the precious votes of the Golden Dawn. Hopefully, the more reasonable side will prevail. The one that understands that the consequences will be tremendous and long term.

The conclusion/synopsis of this complicated and nefarious story is that Greece is a kind of “banana republic” within the EU that is ruled by Feudal Gangsters, and the shade of the Acropolis cannot hide that. That the Greek state is degrading its own justice system in order to vindictively exterminate an already imprisoned guerilla fighter, in the same breath that it is degrading its own justice system in order to protect a child rapist. That if Dimitris Koufontinas becomes the first hunger striker to die in Europe since the IRA militants in 1981, it will be partially in order to create a distraction from an Epstein-level scandal that has “touched” the Prime Minister himself.

And finally, most importantly, if the worst happens, you should prepare to voice your anger about all this towards your local Greek Embassy, Consulate, or any other target of Greek interests. There is a day of solidarity called for tomorrow, February 24.

The post Greek Horror- How an Epstein level paedophile scandal could connect to the first time in Greek history that a political prisoner dies of hunger strike appeared first on Void Network.

The famous rebel and solidarity district of Athens is completely surrounded by huge police forces: many riot police buses (MAT), anti-Terrorism Police (OPKE), motor bike policemen (Dias), members of the secret police as well as a helicopter and several drones.

Unique place in Europe for its high concentration of squats and other self-managed spaces, but also for its resistance against repression and solidarity with the precarious and migrants, Exarchia has been in major focus of the right government since its election on July 7th. The new right Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis had made it a personal matter, especially since he had been mocked in early August for not having achieved his goal of “cleaning Exarchia in a month” as he had announced in great pumps.

This morning, 4 squats have been evacuated: Spirou Trikoupi 17, Transito, Rosa de fuego and Gare. The offensive is for now the northwest part of the neighborhood, with the remarkable exception of the squat Nottara 26, known to be best kept and very important symbol for the neighborhood as the first historic squat of the “refugee crisis” in the center City of Athens.

We are currently counting about a hundred arrest, as well as brutal attacks against people trying to film.

In total, there are 23 squats in Exarchia plus 26 others around the neighborhood, which is a total of 49 focused on a small area. 49 squats to which you need to add other types of self-managed places, some of them for rent (Free Social Space Nosotros, free shop Skoros, etc) as well as dozens of private housing groups of activists, often near the terraces to allow access over the streets.

Of the squats that is officially inside Exarchia, 12 are accommodation squats for refugees and migrant and the other 11 are squats of political anarchist, autonomous groups anarchists. Most refugee squats are also of course very political as they are organized through horizontal assemblies where the refugees can take their lives to their own hands and organize their every day decisions equally and in solidarity of each other and every one of them. Nottara 26, 5th High School of Exarchia and Spirou Trikoupi 17 have a lot of links with the rest of the social movement and international solidarity support.

In the squats of Spirou Trikoupi 17 and Transito, that the jacks of power now attack and destroy, more than a dozen children have been ripped away from a peaceful and happy existence to be suddenly sent to camps. The sinister and overcrowded camps, where the migrants they are poorly fed and suffer from temperature variations. New Prime Minister of Greece Kiriakos Mitsotakis requires that all refugees will be well closed in concentration camps and completely cut off from the rest of the society.

The face of Europe keeps getting hard like what is also happening elsewhere. This ever more authoritarian evolution of capitalism leads to questions about what the current era announces: attacks against the pockets of utopia combined with the confinement of the emissaries reminds of the dark hours of history.

The whole world becomes fascist and Greece is, once again, one of the laboratories.

But nothing is over.

August ends. The social movement is gathering and organizing again. Places like the Nottara 26 and the K*VOX ARE UNDER HIGH surveillance. Responses are getting ready, as well as several major mobilizing events. Autumn will be hot in Athens.

Προτού περάσουμε όμως στις λεπτομέρειες του συνεδρίου και τις θεματικές του, θα κάνουμε μια σύντομη αναφορά στην πολιτική φυσιογνωμία της Αναρχικής Ομοσπονδίας.

Η Αναρχική Ομοσπονδία είναι μια οριζόντια οργάνωση αναρχικών συλλογικοτήτων που διαρθρώνεται φεντεραλιστικά. Είμαστε αναρχικοί, μέρος του ευρύτερου κοινωνικού, ταξικού και επαναστατικού κινήματος, των εκμεταλλευομένων και των καταπιεζόμενων και αγωνιζόμαστε για την κοινωνική και ατομική απελευθέρωση μέσω της κοινωνικής επανάστασης. Αναγνωρίζουμε την αναγκαιότητα ενός άλλου μοντέλου οργάνωσης των αναρχικών, λαμβάνοντας ως δεδομένα τα μέχρι τώρα οργανωτικά ελλείμματα και προβληματικές. Επιζητούμε η Α.Ο. να παίξει καταλυτικό και προωθητικό, όχι όμως ηγεμονικό, ρόλο στη γέννηση και την ανάπτυξη αυτών των αγώνων. Τα μέσα που χρησιμοποιούμε προκειμένου να επιτύχουμε τους σκοπούς βρίσκονται σε αδιαχώριστη συμφωνία με αυτούς.

Τον Ιανουάριο του  2018, κρίνοντας πως είχε έρθει, κατά την άποψή μας, ο χρόνος για κάτι τέτοιο, η Αναρχική Ομοσπονδία δημοσίευσε τη  δημόσια παρουσίαση της αποτίμησης της δημιουργίας και της λειτουργίας της . Ο λόγος που πρότασσε κάτι τέτοιο ήταν διπλός. Αφενός, αποτελούσε αναγκαιότητα με βάση το πολιτικό ήθος και την ελευθεριακή κουλτούρα που ως αναρχικοί προσπαθούμε να έχουμε. Αφετέρου, η οικειοποίηση, τόσο από εμάς όσο και από το υπόλοιπο κίνημα, της εμπειρίας που επίπονα κατακτήθηκε από τη μέχρι τώρα πορεία του οργανωτικού εγχειρήματος αποτελεί ουσιώδη ανάγκη. Οφείλαμε λοιπόν, μετά από χρόνια διαδικασιών, να ορίσουμε επιτυχίες και αποτυχίες, διαψεύσεις και νίκες, αναπόφευκτα όσο και απερίσκεπτα λάθη. Αυτό το κείμενο αποτίμησης σηματοδοτούσε για εμάς την ολοκλήρωση αυτού που στο ιδρυτικό μας συνέδριο το 2015 ορίσαμε ως «πειραματική περίοδο» της Αναρχικής Ομοσπονδίας, μιας περιόδου, δηλαδή, που de facto κάθε μας κίνηση, κάθε μας δομή, κάθε μας πρωτοβουλία θα ήταν πειραματική, ακριβώς επειδή καμία και κανένας μας δε το είχε ξανακάνει, καμία και κανένας μας δεν είχε μία έτοιμη συνταγή. Με το κείμενο αυτό, λοιπόν, ανακοινώσαμε τα αποτελέσματα αυτού του «πειράματος» και με βάση τη νέα πραγματικότητα προχωράμε τώρα στο 1ο τακτικό συνέδριο της Α.Ο. που θα καθορίσει την οριστική της φυσιογνωμία.

Το διήμερο 19 & 20 ΜαΪου 2018, λοιπόν, θα διεξαχθεί το 1ο τακτικό συνέδριο της Αναρχικής Ομοσπονδίας . Σε αυτό θα ολοκληρωθούν και θα επικυρωθούν οι αλλαγές στο καταστατικό που αφορούν τη δομή, την εσωτερική λειτουργία καθώς και τις θέσεις που θα συμπληρωθούν με τα συνθετικά κείμενα για τις προς συζήτηση θεματικές του προσυνεδριακού διαλόγου.  Οι θεματικές αυτές είναι: Ταξικό ζήτημα, Έμφυλο ζήτημα, Ιμπεριαλισμός, το ζήτημα των ουσιών. Ο προσυνεδριακός διάλογος βρίσκεται σε εξέλιξη. Εδώ να διευκρινίσουμε ότι δεν υπάρχει ένα ενιαίο μοντέλο διαλόγου για όλες τις θεματικές, ούτε η κάθε ομάδα δεσμεύεται να ακολουθήσει κάποιον συγκεκριμένο τρόπο έκφρασης της θέσης της. Έτσι για κάποιες θεματικές η τελική θέση της Ομοσπονδίας είναι αποτέλεσμα διαλόγου που έγινε επί ολοκληρωμένων εισηγήσεων, γραπτών τοποθετήσεων σε μορφή bullets ή και προφορικών τοποθετήσεων στις δια ζώσεις πανελλαδικές συναντήσεις της Α.Ο. Κατά συνέπεια δεν είναι τεχνικά δυνατό να δημοσιοποιηθεί όλος ο προσυνεδριακός διάλογος. Αυτό που είναι εφικτό να κατατεθεί δημόσια είναι τα ολοκληρωμένα κείμενα συλλογικοτήτων για κάποιες από τις θεματικές. Για το ζήτημα της δομής δεν υπήρξαν γραπτές τοποθετήσεις, καθώς οι προτάσεις για αλλαγή του τρόπου λειτουργίας γίνονταν στις διά ζώσης διαδικασίες της Α.Ο. βάσει των ελλείψεων που όλοι/ες αντιμετωπίζαμε και  για τις οποίες αναζητούσαμε τρόπους βελτίωσης από κοινού.

Στο ίδιο πλαίσιο έχουν ανακοινωθεί εκδηλώσεις με ευθύνη συλλογικοτήτων της Α.Ο. με σκοπό τον δημόσιο διάλογο για τις υπό συζήτηση θέσεις, στην Αθήνα, τη Θήβα και τη Λαμία.

Ακολουθεί η ατζέντα του διημέρου:

1η Ημέρα:

Παρούσες στο διάλογο της πρώτης ημέρας θα είναι οι συλλογικότητες της Αναρχικής Ομοσπονδίας, καθώς και συγκεκριμένες καλεσμένες συλλογικότητες και άτομα. Θα γίνουν οι τελικές τροποποιήσεις στα συνθετικά κείμενα για τις θεματικές και θα επικυρωθούν οι αλλαγές και οι προσθήκες. Οι συλλογικότητες θα τοποθετηθούν για κάθε μία από τις θεματικές της πρώτης ημέρας. Οι καλεσμένες συλλογικότητες και άτομα θα μπορούν να τοποθετηθούν για κάθε θεματική χωριστά και η άποψη τους θα λαμβάνεται υπόψη συμβουλευτικά στην σύνθεση της τελικής θέσης της Ομοσπονδίας, η οποία θα καταγραφεί στο καταστατικό της.

2η ημέρα:

α.  Παρουσίαση του νέου πολιτικού/ενημερωτικού portal μελών και όχι μόνο της αναρχικής ομοσπονδίας

β.  Ανοιχτή δημόσια συζήτηση επί της  θεματικής «Η σημερινή συγκυρία στην περίοδο κάμψης των κοινωνικών αγώνων επί κυβέρνησης ΣΥΡΙΖΑ-ΑΝΕΛ, η πολιτική ανασυγκρότηση και η απάντηση του αναρχικού κινήματος».

Η θεματική είναι σκόπιμα ευρεία. Πιθανές αλλά όχι αποκλειστικές ή απαραίτητες αιχμές της, όπως έχουν αναδειχθεί από τις ίδιες της συλλογικότητες της Α.Ο., μπορούν να είναι:

– Η νέα συγκυρία όπως διαμορφώνεται μετά το 4ο μνημόνιο.

– Οι τακτικές του κινήματος σχετικά με τα νέα μέτρα, τους πλειστηριασμούς πρώτης κατοικίας, την κατάργηση της κυριακάτικης αργίας, τους τοπικούς-κοινοτικούς αγώνες (π.χ. Σκουριές), τα σωματεία βάσης, τα φοιτητικά συνδικαλιστικά σχήματα, τις δομές ταξικής αυτοάμυνας.

– Ο οργανωτικός δυϊσμός. Η ανάγκη για την ταυτόχρονη οργάνωση των αναρχικών σε πολιτικές συλλογικότητες και ταξικά σχήματα. Η διάκριση των δύο αυτών οργανωτικών μορφών. Τι έχει να προσφέρει η ομοσπονδιακή οργάνωση των αναρχικών και γιατί κρίνεται ως επιτακτική.

– Η άνοδος του εθνικισμού στα Βαλκάνια και η αναρχική απάντηση.

– Το μακεδονικό ζήτημα.

– Ο κοινωνικός εκφασισμός στην Ελλάδα.

– Η άνοδος της ακροδεξιάς στην Ευρώπη.

– Το μεταναστευτικό ζήτημα.

– Η αναρχική στάση σε περίπτωση πολέμου τοπικών ή πιο διευρυμένων διαστάσεων

κ.α.

Η 2η ημέρα του συνεδρίου είναι ανοιχτή σε όποιον και όποια επιθυμεί να παρευρεθεί, συλλογικά ή ατομικά. Πρόκειται για μία δημόσια συζήτηση κατά την οποία όλοι και όλες θα μπορούν να τοποθετηθούν, ενώ οι συλλογικότητες της Αναρχικής Ομοσπονδίας θα κάνουν τι δικές τους τοποθετήσεις, χωρίς κάποια κοινή εισήγηση της ομοσπονδίας.

Ο στόχος αυτής της κουβέντας, και μάλιστα αφιερώνοντας σε αυτή τη 2η μέρα του συνεδρίου μας είναι ο επίκαιρος εμπλουτισμός του διαρκούς συλλογικού στοχασμού μας, όσο και του κινήματος, πάνω στη χάραξη μιας ικανής επαναστατικής στρατηγικής στη συγκυρία. Η Αναρχική Ομοσπονδία θα προσπαθήσει να αξιοποιήσει τη συζήτηση που θα γίνει και τα πολιτικά σκεπτικά που θα τεθούν σε αυτή ως αφετηρία, ως πρώτη ύλη και κινητήριο δύναμη για τον καθορισμό των πολιτικών της προτεραιοτήτων στην μετά το συνέδριο πολιτική της ατζέντα και κινηματική της παρουσία.

Στόχος είναι επίσης η γνωριμία και η ζύμωση με συλλογικότητες και μεμονωμένα άτομα που θα επιλέξουν να τοποθετηθούν, ελπίζοντας ότι κάθε διαδικασία διαλόγου, ανεξαρτήτως ευρύτερων πολιτικών συμφωνιών και διαφωνιών, μας φέρνει πιο κοντά σε δημιουργία ενός υποβάθρου συνδιαμόρφωσης, συμπόρευσης και αλληλοσεβασμού.

It may seem paradoxical, but Greece ’s anarchists are organizing like never before.

Seven years of austerity policies and a more recent refugee crisis have left the government with fewer and fewer resources, offering citizens less and less. Many have lost faith. Some who never had faith in the first place are taking matters into their own hands, to the chagrin of the authorities.

Tasos Sagris, a 45-year-old member of the Greek anarchist group Void Network and of the “self-organized” Embros theater group, has been at the forefront of a resurgence of social activism that is effectively filling a void in governance.

“People trust us because we don’t use the people as customers or voters,” Mr. Sagris said. “Every failure of the system proves the idea of the anarchists to be true.”

Whatever the means, since 2008 scores of “self-managing social centers” have mushroomed across Greece, financed by private donations and the proceeds from regularly scheduled concerts, exhibitions and on-site bars, most of which are open to the public. There are now around 250 nationwide.

Some activists have focused on food and medicine handouts as poverty has deepened and public services have collapsed.

In recent months, anarchists and leftist groups have trained special energy on housing refugees who flooded into Greece in 2015 and who have been bottled up in the country since the European Union and Balkan nations tightened their borders. Some 3,000 of these refugees now live in 15 abandoned buildings that have been taken over by anarchists in the capital.

The burst of citizen action is just the latest chapter in a long history for the anarchist movement in Greece.

Anarchists played an active role in the student uprisings that helped bring down Greece’s dictatorship in the mid-1970s, including a rebellion at the Athens Polytechnic in November 1973, which authorities crushed with police officers and tanks, resulting in several deaths.

Since the late 1970s and early 1980s, anarchists have joined leftist groups in occupying portions of Greek universities to promote their thinking and lifestyle; many of those occupied spaces exist today, and some are used as bases by anarchists to fashion the crude firebombs hurled at the police during street protests.

Over the years, anarchists have also backed a spectrum of causes, such as opposing “neoliberal” education reform or campaigning against the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

The movement continues to be largely tolerated by the public at large, reflecting a deep distrust of authority among Greeks that has been stoked in recent years by the austerity measures imposed on the debt-racked country by international creditors.

In Athens, the anarchists’ epicenter remains the bohemian neighborhood of Exarchia, where the killing of a teenager by a police officer in 2008 set off two weeks of rioting, helped reinvigorate the movement and produced several guerrilla groups that led to a revival of domestic terrorism in Greece.

The police and the authorities tread lightly in the area.

The police have recently raided some buildings illegally occupied by anarchists, called squats, in Athens, in the northern city of Thessaloniki and on the island of Lesbos, a gateway for hundreds of thousands of migrants over the past two years. But the authorities have stopped short of a blanket crackdown, which would be difficult for the leftist Syriza party of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to condone.

In an interview, Public Order Minister Nikos Toskas said that the police sweeps were “systematic,” and that the raids were being carried out “where they are needed.”

The mayor of Athens, Giorgos Kaminis, condemned the squats, saying they have compromised “the quality of life of the refugees.”

“No one knows who they are controlled by and what conditions people being put up in occupied buildings live in,” he said in a response to a reporter’s questions.

The anarchists say their squats are a humane alternative to the state-run camps now filled with more than 60,000 migrants and asylum seekers. Human rights groups have broadly condemned the camps as squalid and unsafe.

 

In Exarchia, one of the squats includes a former state secondary school that was abandoned because of structural problems. Established last spring with the help of anarchists, the squat is now home to some 250 refugees, mostly from Syria, who have set up a chicken coop on the roof. Many more refugees are on a “waiting list” for other occupied buildings.

The squats function as self-organized communities, independent from the state and nongovernmental organizations, said Lauren Lapidge, 28, a British social activist who came to Greece in 2015 at the peak of the refugee crisis and is actively involved with several occupied buildings.

“They are living organisms: Kids go to school, some were born in the squat, we’ve had weddings inside,” she said.

Another initiative in Exarchia involves anarchists and local residents who have moved a cargo container into the neighborhood’s central square, calling it a political kiosk, from which they distribute food and medicine and sell anarchist literature.

Vassiliki Spathara, 49, a painter and anarchist living in Exarchia, said the initiative was necessary because the local authorities would not intervene “even to replace light bulbs” in the square, known as a haunt for drug dealers, though activity has abated recently.

“The authorities want to downgrade the area because it’s the only place in Athens that has an organized, anti-establishment identity,” Ms. Spathara said.

Mayor Kaminis said the local authorities were cooperating with residents “to rejuvenate the area,” and insisted that Exarchia residents had the same rights as all Athenians.

Yet in Greece’s crumbling political landscape, anarchists appear to be styling themselves as a political alternative to the government.

“We want people to fight back, in all ways, from taking care of refugees to burning banks and Parliament,” said Mr. Sagris, the member of Void Network and the Embros theater group, which raises money to fund squats housing refugees. “Anarchists use all tactics, violent and nonviolent.”

He noted, however, that anarchists had a “moral obligation” to make sure that tragedies — like the deaths of three people in May 2010 when an Athens bank was firebombed during an anti-austerity rally — did not happen again. Though anarchists were blamed, none were convicted in a trial that ended with three bank executives convicted of manslaughter through neglect resulting from safety oversights. (They were released on bail, pending an appeal.)

Another anarchist group, Rouvikonas, is looking beyond violence, though its members have made a cause of raiding and vandalizing state offices and businesses.

Last week, members of the group, armed with large wooden sticks festooned with black anarchist flags, conducted a night patrol of a large park in central Athens, saying the police had not intervened to stop the drug trade and prostitution involving young migrants.

Mr. Toskas, who oversees the Greek police force, said the authorities had made a major dent in the drug trade in Exarchia. “Some anarchist groups want to say that they got rid of drugs in the area so that they can control it,” he said.

Rouvikonas members recently applied to a local court to found a “cultural society”— to help organize fund-raising events — and on Saturday the group presented its “political identity” at a squat in Exarchia. (Anarchists insist they are not forming a political party.)

“Anarchists obviously cannot form a political party,” said Spiros Dapergolas, 45, a graphic designer who belongs to Rouvikonas. “But we have our own means to enter the political center,” he said. “We want to get bigger.”

The group’s long-term aim is “militant unionism,” Mr. Dapergolas said. But, he conceded, it is not easy for people to organize themselves. In the meantime, he said, “what Rouvikonas is doing can be done by anyone.”

Today, November 14, outgoing US President Barack Obama arrives in Greece. Speaking from both the United States and Greece, we call on every partisan of freedom to participate in the night demonstration called for Athens on November 15 / starts from Athens Polytechnic at 17.30 .

It is symbolic that Obama is visiting Greece on his farewell tour. The Balkans have served as a laboratory for neoliberalism and US military interventions since the late 20th century; Greece in particular has undergone a global experiment of crisis management and repression. As war draws closer and closer—Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, Turkey—the Balkans are expected to serve Europe and the US as a buffer zone while suffering the same abuse as the periphery.

Now that the pipe dream of universal economic growth has come to an end, giving way to a vista of chaos and climate catastrophe, we can see that the new order will only be stabilized by the empty promises of politicians and the brute force of the police and military: by the ballot and the bullet. The buffer zone is getting smaller and smaller, and the United States is not exempt—the same National Guard sent to Iraq have already been deployed in Baltimore. Now is the time to fight, before the situation grows any worse.

In expressing shock and outrage about the election of Donald Trump, many on the Left have obscured the systemic nature of the problem. By taking action against the Democratic favorite of the US, we show that our opposition is not directed against any particular representative, but against the state and capitalism themselves. In the pleas Clinton and Obama have made for a “peaceful transition of power” to a man they declared unfit to rule, we see the collusion of liberals who would rather preserve the apparatus of the state even in the hands of outright fascists than permit real freedom to emerge.

Indeed, as the candidate of supposed “Hope” and “Change,” Obama not only preserved the structures of power, but persuaded many of the people who are most targeted by the system to invest more faith and resources in those structures—which will now be used to repress them more aggressively than ever. Just as we reject the false solutions of Syriza, we understand that Obama’s reputation as a “good” politician has only made him more dangerous to those he purports to protect. Those who promise a more “inclusive” neoliberalism today pave the way for tomorrow’s fascism.

Obama has deported two and a half million people, as many as all the US Presidents of the 20th century combined—turning Mexico and Central America into a detention center for the population capitalism has no use for. Just as we act in solidarity with those targeted by the so-called “migrant crisis,” a crisis imposed by the borders and wars that are endemic to capitalism, we act against Obama in solidarity with all the people of Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and the world. If we don’t tear down the borders that fence other people out today, who will help us tear down the borders that fence us out tomorrow?

As the first Black President, Obama has served the agenda of those who want to convey the impression that white supremacy is a thing of the past. Yet under his reign, a million Black people have languished in prison while police have murdered Black people in the streets with impunity on a daily basis. Over the past months, we have seen indigenous warriors attacked by the same police for defending the water that gives life to their communities. Inspired by the courageous fighters of Ferguson, Baltimore, Oakland, and Standing Rock, we aim to strike blows against racism, prisons, and police everywhere.

These struggles will not be concluded when Obama leaves Greece, nor when he exits office. As President of the most hegemonic state power of our era, Obama represents the interlaced and mutually reinforcing hierarchies that divide humanity—property, citizenship, gender roles, and every other form of authority—yet he himself is merely a cog in a much greater machine. When he is replaced this coming January, the economic interests that have pulled the strings in his administration will move on to utilizing Donald Trump to the same ends, albeit via a more overtly brutal strategy suitable to these times.

We, too, must update our strategies. Today, fewer and fewer people retain the illusion that voting, party politics, or the state could solve the problems we face. The situation is the same the world over. When we take action against politicians, we must not understand ourselves as engaging in mere protest. We are not simply seeking to obtain leverage by militant means. We are developing forms of self-defense in order to open up liberated spaces in which we can experiment with ways to meet our own needs, directly, rather than being experimented upon.

We have to undertake immediate initiatives to create communities of struggle everywhere—opening spaces and social centers, organizing discussions and demonstrations, liberating public spaces, breaking through apathy and isolation, producing free food, shelter, and culture for all. We have to think freedom and enact emancipation.

The blows we strike in Greece will resonate across the world, from all the other peripheries to the very heart of the United States. Together, let us become ungovernable.

Καλώς ήρθες στην Αθήνα Ομπάμα

Κοινή δημόσια ανακοίνωση που δημοσιεύθηκε με την ευκαιρία της επίσκεψης του Μπάρακ Ομπάμα στην Ελλάδα από το ΚΕΝΟ ΔΙΚΤΥΟ (Αθήνα) και την “Συλλογικότητα πρώην- Εργαζομένων” Crimethinc (ΗΠΑ)

Σήμερα 14 Νοεμβρίου, ο απερχόμενος πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ Μπαράκ Ομπάμα φτάνει στην Ελλάδα. Οι συλλογικότητες μας καλούν τόσο από τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες όσο και από την Ελλάδα κάθε άνθρωπο που αγωνίζεται  για την ελευθερία να συμμετάσχει στη διαδήλωση το βράδυ της Τρίτης 15 Νοεμβρίου 2016 στους δρόμους της Αθήνας με έναρξη το Πολυτεχνείο στις 5.30 μ.μ.μ.

Το γεγονός ότι ο Μπάρακ Ομπάμα επισκέπτεται την Ελλάδα στην αποχαιρετιστήρια περιοδεία του αποκτά έντονους συμβολισμούς. Τα Βαλκάνια έχουν υπηρετήσει ως εργαστήριο πειραμάτων για το νεοφιλελευθερισμό και τις στρατιωτικές επεμβάσεις των ΗΠΑ από τα τέλη του 20ου αιώνα. Η Ελλάδα ειδικότερα έχει υποστεί στις μέρες μας ένα παγκόσμιο πείραμα εφαρμογής μοντέλων διαχείρισης κρίσεων και κοινωνικής καταπίεσης. Καθώς ο πόλεμος πλησιάζει όλο και πιο κοντά, στο Αφγανιστάν, το Ιράκ, τη Συρία, την Ουκρανία και την Τουρκία, τα Βαλκάνια αναμένεται να εξυπηρετήσουν την Ευρώπη και τις ΗΠΑ ως ουδέτερη ζώνη, ενώ θα υπομένουν την ίδια κακοποίηση με όλη την υπόλοιπη περιφέρεια.

Τώρα που η ψευδαίσθηση της καθολικής οικονομικής ανάπτυξης έφτασε στο τέλος της μπορούμε να δούμε ξεκάθαρα ότι η νέα τάξη πραγμάτων θα σταθεροποιηθεί μόνο με τις κενές υποσχέσεις των πολιτικών και την ωμή βία της αστυνομίας και του στρατού: με τα ψηφοδέλτια και τις σφαίρες. Η ουδέτερη ζώνη γίνεται όλο και μικρότερη, και οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες δεν εξαιρούνται από αυτή την διαδικασία-η ίδια Εθνοφρουρά που περιπολεί απόψε στο Ιράκ έχει ήδη παραταχθεί και στους δρόμους της Βαλτιμόρης. Τώρα είναι η ώρα να πολεμήσουμε, πριν η κατάσταση γίνεται χειρότερη.

Εκφράζοντας σοκ και οργή για την εκλογή του Donald Trump, πολλοί στην Αριστερά έχουν αποκρύψει τη συστημική φύση του προβλήματος. Με την ανάληψη δράσης ενάντια στον Μπαράκ Ομπάμα, τον αγαπημένο πρόεδρο των Δημοκρατικών στις ΗΠΑ, δείχνουμε ότι η αντίθεσή μας δεν στρέφεται εναντίον κάποιου συγκεκριμένου εκπρόσωπου, αλλά εναντίον του κράτους και του ίδιου του καπιταλισμού. Στους πρόσφατους μετεκλογικούς λόγους τους, η Χιλαρι Κλίντον και ο Ομπάμα μίλησαν για μια “ειρηνική μετάβαση της εξουσίας» σε έναν άνθρωπο που έχουν οι ίδιοι χαρακτηρίσει ως ακατάλληλο να κυβερνήσει, αποκαλύπτοντας τη σύμπραξη των φιλελεύθερων, που με σκοπό να διατηρήσουν τη λειτουργία του κράτους είναι πρόθυμοι να παραδώσουν την εξουσία ακόμη και στα χέρια των απροκάλυπτων φασιστών από το να αποδεχθούν την ανάδυση της πραγματικής ελευθερίας.

Πράγματι, ως υποψήφιος της δήθεν “Ελπίδας” και της “Αλλαγής”, ο Ομπάμα όχι μόνο διέσωσε τις δομές εξουσίας, αλλά και έπεισε πάρα πολλούς ανθρώπους που υπομένουν την πιο στοχευμένη επίθεση από το σύστημα να επενδύσουν περισσότερη ακόμα πίστη και πόρους σε αυτές τις δομές- οι οποίες τώρα θα χρησιμοποιηθούν για να τους καταπιέσουν πιο επιθετικά από ποτέ. Με τον ίδιο τρόπο με τον οποίο έχουμε απορρίψει τις ψεύτικες λύσεις του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, καταλαβαίνουμε ότι η φήμη του Ομπάμα ως “καλός” πολιτικός τον κάνει ακόμα πιο επικίνδυνο για αυτούς που φιλοδοξεί να προστατεύσει. Εκείνοι που υπόσχονται έναν νεοφιλελευθερισμό «χωρίς αποκλεισμούς» σήμερα, είναι αυτοί που ανοίγουν τον δρόμο για τον αυριανό φασισμό.

Ο Ομπάμα έχει απελάσει δυόμιση εκατομμύρια ανθρώπους, ίσο αριθμό με όσους έχουν απελάσει όλοι μαζί οι Πρόεδροι των ΗΠΑ ολόκληρο τον 20ο αιώνα, μετατρέποντας το Μεξικό και την Κεντρική Αμερική σε ένα απέραντο κέντρο κράτησης για τους πληθυσμούς που για τον καπιταλισμό δεν έχουν καμία χρήση. Ακριβώς όπως δρουμε σε αλληλεγγύη με εκείνους που στοχεύονται από τη λεγόμενη “προσφυγική κρίση”, μια κρίση που επιβάλλεται από την ύπαρξη των συνόρων και των πολέμων που είναι ενδημικοί στον καπιταλισμό, δρούμε εναντίον Ομπάμα σε αλληλεγγύη με όλους τους ανθρώπους του Μεξικού, της Νικαράγουας, της Ονδούρας, του Ελ Σαλβαδόρ και όλου του κόσμου. Αν δεν γκρεμίσουμε μαζί τα σύνορα που φυλακίζουν άλλους ανθρώπους σήμερα, ποίοι θα ενωθούν μαζί μας για να γκρεμίσουμε αύριο τα σύνορα και τους φράχτες που κρατάνε εμάς φυλακισμένους;

Ως ο πρώτος μαύρος πρόεδρος, ο Ομπάμα έχει υπηρετήσει την ατζέντα όσων θέλουν να δοθεί η εντύπωση ότι η ρατσιστική “λευκή υπεροχή” είναι ένα πράγμα του παρελθόντος. Ωστόσο, στο πλαίσιο της βασιλείας του, ένα εκατομμύριο μαύροι λιώνουν στις φυλακές, ενώ η αστυνομία δολοφονούσε ατιμώρητη έναν μαύρο στους δρόμους των Η.Π.Α. κάθε μέρα. Κατά τη διάρκεια των τελευταίων μηνών, έχουμε δει πολεμιστές αμερικανικών ιθαγενικών πληθυσμών να δέχονται επιθέσεις από την ίδια αστυνομία για την υπεράσπιση του νερού που δίνει ζωή στις κοινότητές τους. Εμπνευσμένοι από τους θαρραλέους μαχητές και τις μαχήτριες του Φέργκιουσον, της Βαλτιμόρης, του Oakland, και του Standing Rock, έχουμε ως στόχο να καταφέρουμε και εμείς ισχυρά χτυπήματα κατά του ρατσισμού, των φυλακών και της αστυνομίας παντού.

Φυσικά αυτοί οι αγώνες δεν θα ολοκληρωθούν όταν ο Ομπάμα φύγει από την Ελλάδα, ούτε όταν θα εγκαταλείψει το προεδρικό μέγαρο. Ως Πρόεδρος της πιο ηγεμονικής κρατικής εξουσίας της εποχής μας, ο Ομπάμα προσωποποιεί όλες τις διαπλεκόμενες και αμοιβαία ενισχυόμενες ιεραρχίες που διαχωρίζουν την ανθρωπότητα -την ιδιοκτησία, την ιθαγένεια, τους ρόλους των δύο φύλων, καθώς και κάθε άλλη μορφή εξουσίας- και όμως, ακόμη και ο ίδιος, δεν είναι τίποτα άλλο πάρα ένα γρανάζι σε μια πολύ μεγαλύτερη μηχανή. Όταν αντικατασταθεί τον ερχόμενο Ιανουάριο, τα οικονομικά συμφέροντα που κρατούσαν τα νήματα της διακυβέρνησης του και καθόριζαν τις επιλογές του θα προχωρήσουν αξιοποιώντας τον Donald Trump με τους ίδιους βασικούς στόχους, έστω και μέσω μιας πιο απροκάλυπτα βίαιης στρατηγικής, κατάλληλης για αυτούς τους χρόνους που μας περιμένουν.

Από μεριάς μας και εμείς επίσης, πρέπει να ανανεώσουμε τις στρατηγικές μας. Σήμερα, όλο και λιγότεροι άνθρωποι διατηρούν την ψευδαίσθηση ότι οι εκλογές, το κόμμα, ή το κράτος θα μπορούσαν να λύσουν τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουμε. Όταν παίρνουμε μέτρα εναντίον πολιτικών σαν τον Ομπάμα, δεν πρέπει να κατανοούμε τους εαυτούς μας ως συμμέτοχους σε μια απλή διαμαρτυρία. Δεν  επιδιώκουμε απλά να αποκτήσουμε δύναμη με μαχητικά μέσα. Αναπτύσσουμε μορφές αυτο-άμυνας, προκειμένου να δημιουργήσουμε απελευθερωμένους χώρους στους οποίους μπορούμε να πειραματιστούμε με τους δικούς μας τρόπους για να καλύψουμε τις δικές μας ανάγκες, άμεσα, αντί άλλοι να υποβάλλουν τις ζωές μας σε πειράματα.

ΝΑ ΠΑΡΟΥΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΜΟΙΡΑ ΜΑΣ ΣΤΑ ΧΕΡΙΑ ΜΑΣ. Να πάρουμε άμεσα πρωτοβουλίες, να δημιουργήσουμε κοινότητες αγώνα παντού, να ανοίξουμε χώρους, στέκια, καταλήψεις, σημεία συνάντησης, να καταλάβουμε και να απελευθερώσουμε τον δημόσιο χώρο, να ανοίξουμε συζητήσεις, να οργανώσουμε διαδηλώσεις, να παράγουμε ελεύθερη τροφή, στέγη και κουλτούρα για όλους, σκέψη χειραφέτησης και δράσεις απελευθέρωσης, να συμμετάσχουμε στις κοινωνικές δομές του κινήματος, να σπάσουμε την απάθεια και την ιδιώτευση.

Τα χτυπήματα που θα καταφέρουμε εδώ στην Ελλάδα θα ακουστούν σε όλο τον κόσμο, από τις υπόλοιπες περιφέρειες έως την καρδιά των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών.

Μαζί, από όλες τις πλευρές του πλανήτη, να γίνουμε ακυβέρνητοι.

Για τον διεθνή συντονισμό και την παγκόσμια Αλληλεγγύη στον αγώνα ενάντια στο κράτος και τον παγκόσμιο καπιταλισμό.

ΕΚΛΟΓΙΚΗ ΑΠΕΡΓΙΑ ΕΝΑΝΤΙΑ ΣΕ ΚΡΑΤΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΚΕΦΑΛΑΙΟ

Η ψήφιση του 3ου μνημονίου από τη συγκυβέρνηση ΣΥΡΙΖΑ-ΑΝΕΛ διαλύει με τον πιο σαφή τρόπο τις ρεφορμιστικές αυταπάτες. Ελάχιστοι πλέον πιστεύουν πως μέσα στις συνθήκες του διεθνοποιημένου καπιταλισμού, της Ε.Ε. και του σύγχρονου ολοκληρωτισμού υπάρχει χώρος για την ικανοποίηση των αναγκών των από-τα-κάτω, μέσω ενός ρεφορμιστικού κυβερνητικού προγράμματος. Η αριστερή κυβέρνηση με ένα προσχηματικό δημοψήφισμα μετέτρεψε την κοινωνική δυναμική του ΟΧΙ σε ένα μεγάλο ΝΑΙ στην εξαθλίωση κι ετοιμάζεται να κατέβει εκ νέου σε εκλογές, δείχνοντας πως γρήγορα έμαθε να χρησιμοποιεί προς όφελός της τους κανόνες του αστικού πολιτικού παιχνιδιού. Την ίδια στιγμή ένα κομμάτι του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ διασπάται, προσπαθώντας να ανανεώσει την πίστη στις δυνατότητες της αριστερής διαχείρισης του καπιταλισμού ενώ συνεχίζει να καλλιεργεί την αυταπάτη της ανάθεσης της λύσης των προβλημάτων μας σε επίδοξους σωτήρες μέσα από ένα εθνολαϊκό πρόγραμμα ταξικής συνεργασίας. Είναι σαφές όμως πως τόσο ο νεοφιλελεύθερος δρόμος όσο και η κρατικίστικη “εναλλακτική” συγκλίνουν στην κατεύθυνση της καπιταλιστικής ανάπτυξης και της περαιτέρω υποτίμησης της εργασίας και της ζωής μας.

Είναι πλέον πιο επιτακτικό από ποτέ να συνειδητοποιήσουμε πως δεν μπορούμε παρά να στηριχτούμε μόνο στις δικές μας δυνάμεις. Για να αποτρέψουμε τον κοινωνικό κανιβαλισμό είναι απαραίτητο να οργανώσουμε την αυτοάμυνα των εκμεταλλευόμενων και καταπιεσμένων. Δίκτυα κοινωνικής αλληλεγγύης που θα βασίζονται στην άμεση συμμετοχή και θα κινούνται ενάντια στις φιλανθρωπικές λογικές των κάθε λογής ΜΚΟ και της εκκλησίας, μπορούν να δημιουργήσουν μια ζώνη άμυνας και αναπαραγωγής της τάξης μας στις συνθήκες της κρίσης και της επίθεσης του κεφαλαίου. Ταυτόχρονα πρέπει να σαμποτάρουμε τους σχεδιασμούς κράτους και κεφαλαίου και να  περάσουμε στην επίθεση. Με σωματεία βάσης κι εργατικές πρωτοβουλίες που θα κινούνται ενάντια στον γραφειοκρατικό και κρατικοδίαιτο συνδικαλισμό, οργανώνοντας την πάλη στους χώρους δουλειάς, με λαϊκές συνελεύσεις που θα μετατρέψουν τις γειτονιές μας σε εστίες αντίστασης, με πολιτικές συλλογικότητες που θα οργανώνονται σε ομοσπονδιακό επίπεδο, να αναδιοργανώσουμε κάθε πλευρά της κοινωνικής ζωής και να  οργανώσουμε την αντεπίθεση μας απέναντι στην κυριαρχία κράτους και κεφαλαίου. Αναπόσπαστο μέρος της ταξικής αυτοάμυνας είναι και η υπεράσπιση του πιο υποτιμημένου τμήματος της τάξης μας, των μεταναστών και προσφύγων. Δεν πρόκειται να αφήσουμε ούτε σπιθαμή δημόσιου χώρου στους φασίστες που προσπαθούν να βγούνε πάλι στην επιφάνεια, στρατευμένοι (όπως πάντα) στο πλάι των αφεντικών.
Στη φετινή ΔΕΘ κάνουμε την πρώτη κινηματική εμφάνιση της Πρωτοβουλίας για τη συγκρότηση Αναρχικής Ομοσπονδίας, προτάσσοντας τη συλλογικοποίηση των αναγκών μας και τη συνολικοποίηση των αγώνων της τάξης μας ενάντια στον σύγχρονο ολοκληρωτισμό. Στηρίζουμε τους ακηδεμόνευτους κοινωνικούς και ταξικούς αγώνες, όπως αυτούς των εργατών της ΒΙΟ.ΜΕ. και των κατοίκων της Χαλκιδικής ενάντια στην εξόρυξη χρυσού, αλλά και όλες τις προσπάθειες αυτοοργάνωσης των από-τα-κάτω με τις οποίες θα πορευτούμε μαζί στη διαδήλωση της ΔΕΘ. Ενάντια σε κράτος, Ε.Ε., ντόπιο και διεθνές κεφάλαιο βαδίζουμε στον δρόμο της κοινωνικής επανάστασης, της αναρχίας και του κομμουνισμού.

Election Boycott against Capital and the State

The approval of the third memorandum by the SYRIZA—ANEL coalition government clearly destroys the reformist delusions. Very few continue to believe that under the domain of global capitalism, the European Union, and contemporary totalitarianism, that government programs could possibly satisfy the needs of the exploited. Through their facetious referendum, the Left government transformed the social effervescence of the “NO” into a resounding “YES” for emiseration. Now they are preparing for new elections, showing how quickly they have learned to take advantage of the rules of the bourgeois political game. In the same moment, a section of SYRIZA has split off, trying to renovate faith in the prospect of leftwing management of capitalism. They continue to cultivate the delusion of delegating the solution of social problems to self-proclaimed saviors, within a populist-nationalist program of interclass collaboration. But it is now clear that the neoliberal path as well as the statist alternative converge in their goals of capitalist growth and the further devaluation of our labor and our lives. 

It is more urgent than ever to understand that we can only rely on our own power. To prevent social cannibalism, it is necessary to organize the self-defense of the exploited and oppressed. Networks of social solidarity based in direct participation that take a position against the philanthropic logic of NGOs and the Church, can create a common field of defense and reproduction of our class in conditions of crisis and the assault of Capital. Simultaneously, we must sabotage the plans of the State and Capital, and organize our attack. With base unions and workers’ initiatives that will attack the bureaucratic, state-legitimized syndicalism and organize in the workplace, with public assemblies that will turn neighborhoods into zones of resistance, with federated political groups, with all of these we have to reorganize every aspect of social life, and to organize our attack against the dominance of State and Capital. Inseparable from our self-defense as a class is the defense of the devalued segment of our class: the immigrants and the refugees. We will not allow the fascists to ever again appear in public space, promoting as always the interests of the bosses. 

In this year’s Thessaloniki International Trade Fair, we make our first appearance in the movement as the Initiative for the Creation of the Anarchist Federation, emphasizing the collective organizing of our needs and the coalescence of the struggles of our class against contemporary totalitarianism.  We support the uncompromising and independent social and class struggles, such as the struggle of the workers of the self-organized, occupied factory of BIO. ME. that of the residents of Halkidiki against the goldmine in Skouries, and all of the other self-organized initiatives from below, with which we will struggle together against the Thessaloniki International Trade Fair. Against the State, the European Union, local and international capital, we walk towards the social revolution, anarchy, and communism.

More than 3.500 Anarchists participated at the demonstration organized by an Open Assembly of more than 15 different affinity groups, collectives, occupations, political local, neighbourhood anarchist groups and many comrades. For 4 weeks all these different groups met, organized, co-ordinated action, published one common poster in 3.000 copies, one common comunique in 10.000 copies, 6 different collectives printed their own posters in about 20.000 copies and the Anarchist Assembly for the Self-Organization of the society printed 4.000 posters and 12.000 communiques. All these efforts of all the comrades brought the message of Anarchists out in the streets, the neighbourhoods, the schools and the workplaces. The struggle continues….
